Barb Reid

Back to Team

As former Chief Executive Officer of GRIT (now Kids Included) Barb has provided leadership and advocacy for the advancement of equity and inclusion for children with developmental disabilities and their families. Her work has been grounded in the core values of human rights, family-centered practice and applying evidence-based research to practice for the provision of high-quality inclusion in early learning and care.

Through leveraging relationships, Barb created opportunities to engage others to explore innovations in service delivery including the adoption, implementation and scaling of the evidence- based Pyramid Model framework across Canada. This work led to the redesign of the Inclusive Child Care framework in Alberta as well as the leadership capacity within organizations across 9 provinces and 3 territories of Canada.

Today, in redefining retirement, her passion continues as she engages with the Pyramid Model Consortium Board of Directors.  In addition, Barb is co-chair of the Council for Early Learning and Care (Alberta) and seeks as much time as possible with her 6 grandchildren.
