Program Coaches
Alaska is actively working to increase the capacity of credentialed coaching staff. For FY 23-24 a group of specialists from Head Start, Pre-elementary, thread, and funds worked to develop the Relationship Based Professional Development Framework. The Framework includes core competencies, credential, and list of approved early childhood content training, and coach training requirements. The RBPD Credential is managed by Alaska SEED (System for Early Education Development) which is housed and managed by thread– Alaska’s Child Care Resource and Referral statewide organization.
The RBPD Credential Framework has four levels.
- RBPD I- Technical Assistance
- RBPD II- Consultation
- RBPD IIIA- Practitioner/ Teacher Coach
- RBPD III B- Program/ Administration Coach
RBPD IIIA and RBPD IIIB are aligned to Pyramid Model recommendations for qualification and roles and responsibilities of a practitioner and program coaches. Click here for more information about Alaska’s RBPD Credential System.
